Cathy Matthews-Kane Elected as President of the Colorado PGA
The Colorado Section of the PGA of America announced on October 10th its new Officer trio led by PGA Professionals Cathy Matthews-Kane as President, Mike O’Donnell as Vice President, and Jim Miller as Secretary.

Cathy Matthews-Kane, General Manager of The Country Club of Colorado, is just the second female President to serve the Colorado PGA since its inception in 1957. A native of Canada, Cathy has been a PGA Member for over 15 years and active member of the Association serving volunteer roles as a Trustee for the charitable arm of the COPGA, Finance Committee, Employment Committee, and numerous other National PGA Committees on top of her duties as GM at The Country Club of Colorado.
Supporting Cathy on the Executive Committee is Mike O’Donnell, PGA Executive at Cheyenne Shadows Golf Course at Fort Carson who will assume the role of Vice President. Jim Miller, PGA General Manager at Sonnenalp Golf Club, will serve a two-year stint as Secretary of the Association.
“I am humbled and honored to serve the close to 850 Colorado PGA Members and Associates in our Section. I also look forward to working hand in hand with our PGA Members to make an impact on our community through our initiatives of our charitable arm, PGA REACH Colorado. The game of golf has given so much to me throughout my entire life and I am excited to give back to it and the PGA Professionals who make it tick,” said Cathy Matthews-Kane of her presidency.
The Colorado Section of the PGA, founded as the 31st Section nationwide, promotes the game of golf for the golfers of Colorado, Eastern Wyoming, and a small part of South Dakota. The purpose of our Section is to promote the enjoyment and involvement in the game of golf, and to contribute to its growth by providing services to golf professionals and the golf industry within the Section. Its mission is simple - Grow the Game and Serve the Colorado PGA Professional.
