What should members know about you?
As a native of the Denver area, my passion has long been for the Colorado golf community. I was a part of the second class of the PGA Golf Management Program at UCCS, having met with the staff when the Program was still being formed. As a Head Golf Professional nearby the University, I spent my time working closely with the Program. My time with the Program, therefore, includes each year of its existence, which has blessed me with a career life of rewarding, challenging, and profound moments with hundreds of aspiring PGA Professionals.

Reason for running for the board
In my role as Program Director of the PGA Golf Management Program at UCCS, I have the daily opportunity to mentor and enrich the lives of students; future PGA Professionals. My focus, therefore, is on enriching the opportunities, benefits and reputation of the PGA Professional at large in the golf industry.

The Colorado Section PGA has been awarded the Herb Graffis Award twice in the past 8 years; a feat that speaks directly to the enduring pursuit of excellence as lived out by the Colorado Section PGA Member. Having the opportunity to be present at the PGA Annual Meeting this past year, I witnessed that excellence and professionalism first-hand when the Colorado Section not only accepted the award, but turned around and presented another mortgage-free home to a wounded veteran. Instead of looking inward and celebrating the accomplishment of the award, the Colorado Section again looked external, to the lives of others. It was a moment of humility for myself as a PGA Member; a powerful reminder of the positive impact this simple game can have on the lives of others. My hope is that as a member of the Colorado Section PGA Board of Directors, I can support that mission of impacting lives; both internal and external of the game I love.

What should members know about you?
I am a Colorado Native and have been a member of the Colorado PGA Section for 10 years. I graduated from the Ferris State University PGM program in 2005. I worked at Old Marsh Golf Club in Palm Beach Gardens for about 5 years as the First Assistant before coming back to Colorado and working under Kyle Heyen at Hiwan Golf Club. For the last eight years, I’ve been with GOLFTEC in several different roles.

Reason for running for the board
After volunteering within the Section for Golf in Schools, Junior Events, Denver Golf Expo and now most recently the Tournament Committee, my passion to help the Section and its Members has grown as I’m now running for the Board of Directors. I believe I can bring a lot of ideas and suggestions to our Section partly because of my current role within GOLFTEC Headquarters.

I have the opportunity to travel around the country and talk to a lot of other PGA Members from other Sections. Even though our Section is one of, if not the best Section in the country in my opinion, I would be able to bring ideas and suggestions from conversations with other PGA Members in other Sections.

Please consider me to serve you on our Colorado PGA Section Board of Directors. Thank you!

What should members know about you?
I am a competitive, growth minded professional, who has spent the last 10 years adding value to my teams, while pursuing opportunities to continue to grow as a leader.

I was raised by the Colorado Section, with my fondest memories and difficult life lessons occurring on our many great golf courses. My passion for the game reaches beyond my own facility and I am excited about the opportunity to add value to my fellow professionals.

Reason for running for the board
During the 2018 Spring Meeting, Trevor Regan spoke about facing fear and our ability to “dance with the Lizard brain.” Trevor’s message had a profound impact on me and made it clear that fear has been a deciding factor in so many of my actions, most notably running for the Section Board.

As I embrace the “Train Ugly” talk, I plan to use this opportunity to represent my fellow PGA Members and provide a voice on several platforms that directly affect the value the PGA can provide to its Membership. Member engagement and education are two critical topics that can significantly impact our experience as Members. Interactive and engaging meetings and events like Trevor Regan’s “Train Ugly” talk are the perfect example of the section staff and Board putting the Member’s best interest as the highest priority.

I intend to use my passion and voice to work with the current Board Members to help positively impact our Section. I would thrive in an environment where strategic teamwork and proven leadership are the foundation for success. And that success should be measured by how empowered and fulfilled the Members of the Colorado Section feel.

Here’s to a great 2019 season!

What should members know about you?
I have lived in the Vail Valley for 19 years. As well as a Golf Professional, I am also a Ski Instructor at Beaver Creek. I have been married for 8 years to my wife Kirstin and have a 6 year old daughter and a 3 year old son.

I qualified and played in the 2006 PGA Professional National Championship at Turning Stone Resort in Verona, NY.

Reason for running for the board
The reason I am running for the Colorado PGA Section Board of Directors is that it has been 5 years since I last served on the Board. From 2012 to 2014, I had my first experience on the Board as President of the West Chapter. In that time, we were able to bring the West Chapter in line with the Colorado Section. I enjoyed my time on the Board and I am looking forward to making a difference for the Colorado PGA Members.

With more valuable experience, I want to continue to grow and make the Colorado Section the best PGA Section it can be. I also feel like I am a very detailed and outgoing person. This will help in the board room where I will be able to work with everyone and be able to stand up for what I feel are right decisions and what are wrong decisions.

I have also been in this Section for 19 years and know a lot of the Members. I think this will help if Members have any ideas or concerns that the Board should consider, they can come to me in confidence.

Lastly, I am going to push for what I think is right for the Section and not my own personal agenda. Thank you for this opportunity to serve the Members again and I look forward to your vote.
