Educating the Member remains a top priority for the Section. It is the number one way that PGA Members can add value to themselves and to their facilities. It is the focus of the Education Committee to offer programs that the Membership sees as valuable programs in the hopes that our Members will take advantage of them. The Section will do everything possible to secure quality educational programs for as little cost to the Members as possible.

PGA Professional Development Requirement Policy:

Credit requirements will consist of three categories: 54 Total Credits, 30 of which must be from PGA Education, Professional Standards Education/Training, and Specified PGA Player Engagement Programs, and 6 of which must be from PGA Meeting Attendance and National Survey Completion. An example of a co-conducted program is the PGA/USGA Rules of Golf Workshops). The other 18 PDR’s can be earned for service or volunteer duties, etc.

PGA / USGA Rules of Golf Workshops

Since 1975, the United States Golf Association and The PGA of America, working together to support the best interests of the game, have offered to the public a series of workshops on the Rules of Golf. These workshops are open to the public and bring together several of the foremost Rules of Golf educators in the game, with the goal of making the Rules accessible to anyone who wishes to learn more about them or sharpen their existing knowledge.

Earn up to 32 PDR Credits

US Kids Golf Foundation Certified Coach Seminar

U.S. Kids Golf Certified Coaches are recognized as experts in teaching golf to kids ages 12 and under. Certified Coaches learn to leverage their expertise by incorporating an in-depth understanding of club fitting for young golfers, utilizing an established curriculum that features game-based learning methods, offering playing opportunities on the golf course from scaled yardages, and communicating effectively with parents.


Virtual Seminars are presented live and hosted using Zoom with limited participation. All materials normally distributed at in-person presentations are provided to participants and available for download in advance. The registration fee is $95 for those in the U.S. and $125 for international participants. Golf professionals may earn continuing education credits from their associations.

PGA members who attend and complete the U.S. Kids Golf Certified Coaches program are eligible to receive PGA Professional Development Requirement (PDR) credits.

  • U.S. Kids Golf Certified Coaches Seminar – earn 8 PDR credits
  • U.S. Kids Golf Certified Coaches Completion of PCA test – Earn 2 PDR credits

The Certified Professional Program is an online, career-enhancing educational curriculum that supports the goals of PGA members who are committed to continuously improving their business and teaching skills to meet the increasing demands of the golf industry. This online approach ensures “on-demand” access when your schedule permits, while reducing time and travel costs associated with traditional classes.

  • Teaching & Coaching
  • Player Development

The revised PGA Master Professional Program (MPP 2.0) showcases a PGA Certified Professional’s continued expertise and experience in his or her specific career path through a proven track record of success and industry involvement. This program is designed to quantify and promote more value to employers and elevate the image of the PGA Certified Professional through a progressive approach to lifelong learning guided by enhanced mentoring and coaching.
